July 2008 – The 'Seven Atlantic' ship is currently under construction. De Boer Staal supplied 950 tons of steel plate and Holland profiles (Grade A ship quality) for this 'Diving Support / Offshore Construction Vessel'. This project has now been completed as far as De Boer Staal is concerned, but the shipyard and the shipping company still have a lot of work to do.

March 2008 – April 2008 – Pipes are used for a wide variety of applications. They are widely used as struts for sheet pile walls, as foundation piles and as pipe sleeves. Yet pipes from De Boer Staal can also be found in less common applications. For instance, De Boer Staal regularly supplies pipes to the tank construction industry. Pipes with diameters ranging from 168.3 to 406.4 mm are mainly used as lines in vertical water storage tanks for horticulture.

December 2007 – November 2007 – On 1 October, De Boer Staal switched to a new ERP system: M-Soft. This software package was developed specially for the steel trade and so it is ideal for De Boer Staal. The new package means that De Boer Staal has an accurate picture of the stocks at any given moment. So the company will be able to operate even more flexibly and provide its clients with optimal service.

December 2007 – October 2007 – After a number of difficult years, Dutch shipbuilding is prospering again. The yacht construction market is also doing well. Orders for mega-yachts are pouring in. For the hull of a mega-yacht (construction number Y704) De Boer Staal has supplied approximately 600 tonnes of sheet steel and bulb flats. The Y704 is the largest yacht hull ever built in the Netherlands.

October 2007 – May 2007 - The British Air Force air base RAF Kinloss has been expanded. During the construction, surface water emerged and was drained off to sea through a PE pipe. De Boer Staal supplied 36 tons of steel tubes that were used to case the PE pipe.

October 2007 – December 2006 - Kennemer College in Beverwijk has been thoroughly renovated. The existing school building was drastically overhauled and a new atrium erected in the inner quad. A mediatheque was built on the top floor. De Boer Staal supplied longitudinal welded steel tubes for the mediatheque's supporting columns.

October 2007 – June 2006 - De Boer Staal has various dimensions and qualities of sheet steel, profiles and tubes in stock. Customers know who to turn to when they need steel. De Boer Staal can also trim, cut and saw steel. In order to serve their customers even better, De Boer have purchased a large Steiner cutting machine.

October 2007 – December 2006 – The container ship Rijnborg was festively launched on June 4. On paper, the ship, which is 176 metres in length and almost 24 metres wide, can carry 1,700 containers. In practical terms, this means that some 1,000 standard containers stacked three high will tower above the deck. De Boer Staal supplied 5,000 tons of sheet steel Grade A, AH36 and DH36 and 1,000 tons of profiles Grade A and AH36 for this ship.
